In her early days, she would imagine the clothes she wanted to wear and then sit for hours with local tailors, patiently shaping each detail until it felt just right. There was no formal language for design then, only instinct, observation, and a quiet certainty of what felt beautiful to her.

And people noticed.

Friends from school and college began coming to her, wanting to wear something she had imagined. What started as something deeply personal slowly became something shared. A soft, defining moment where she realised that design wasn’t something she was trying to do… it was something that naturally flowed through her.

Even though she pursued a diploma in commercial art, her heart had already chosen its direction.

With just one machine and one master, she began her journey, creating for a small circle of people who trusted her vision. There was no rush, no noise, just a steady unfolding. Over time, that circle grew, and so did her world.

Her work began to travel.

From Bombay to places across the world like the USA and Switzerland, her garments found their way into different lives, different stories. She designed for television dramas and theatre, and her pieces quietly found space in international stores, including niche spaces in Zurich. Her design language remained rooted in Indian heritage fabrics, gently reimagined into modern silhouettes, an effortless coming together of cultures that felt both familiar and new.

And then, life asked her to slow down.

She chose to pause.

What followed was a different kind of journey, one that moved inward. She explored healing, studied esoteric sciences, and worked deeply with crystal healing as a therapist and consultant. She also spent time learning organic and natural farming, understanding the rhythms of nature not as an idea, but as a lived experience.

Somewhere in that stillness, something shifted.

She began to see materials, colours, and processes differently. What we wear, what we touch, what we create… it all started to matter in a deeper, more conscious way. Nature was no longer just inspiration. It became guidance.

And when she returned, she returned with intention.

JForest is that intention.

It is her second chapter. But more than that, it is her way back home.
